2020 Billig-Croft Lecture: The Promise of Sustainable Energy

Whiting School alumnus, L. Gordon Croft, established this lecture in in 2007 in honor of his late friend, Dr. Frederick Billig. The lecture highlights the work of leaders in the areas of mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering.

This year's lecture will be delivered virtually and the featured speaker is Thomas Foust. Thomas Foust graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1995. He holds a Master's Degree from the Whiting School in Mechanical Engineering. He is the director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s National Bioenergy Center (NBC), a world leading organization performing cutting-edge work to develop cost effective, environmentally sustainable technology for producing transportation fuels and products from renewable and waste carbon. Foust is a comprehensive expert in clean energy with a specialty in sustainable and low carbon energy technologies.
