4th Annual Fundraiser Benefiting the Johns Hopkins Precision Medicine Center of Excellence for Multiple Sclerosis

Thank you for your interest in attending Magda Martí's 4th annual fundraiser benefiting the Johns Hopkins Precision Medicine Center of Excellence for Multiple Sclerosis on SundayMay 2, 2021, at 2 pm ET.

In the last three years, we have raised over $100,000 and at this year's event aim to secure an additional $50,000. Your support will get us closer to this goal!

Johns Hopkins faculty, Drs. Peter Calabresi, Ellen Mowry, and Pavan Bhargava, will discuss their latest research on progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) and also how COVID-19 is impacting patients with MS.

Dr. Calabresi’s research, Next generation biomarkers for progressive MS, is a five-year to study to identify and validate next generation biomarkers of non-inflammatory disease progression (NIDP) in MS to elucidate novel mechanisms and pathways of injury and to develop surrogate outcomes for testing novel therapies for progressive MS (PMS).

Dr. Mowry’s study, HomE-based Actigraphy to predict changes in neuroLogical function in Multiple Sclerosis (HEAL-MS), looks at how wearable fitness trackers, alone or in combination with other currently-employed phase 2 trial outcome measures, will improve the prediction of clinical disability progression, setting the stage for meaningful breakthroughs in treatments for PMS.

Dr. Bhargava’s study, Bile acid metabolism is altered in MS and supplementation ameliorates neuroinflammation, focuses on how bile acids are cholesterol metabolites that can signal through receptors on cells throughout the body, including in the CNS and the immune system.
