Mitigating the Impact of COVID-19 on Child Nutrition This webinar will feature the development of a cell phone application for parents, a collaborative effort with UNICEF Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and colleagues from Serbia and Australia. We will discuss the need for rapid deployment of key information to parents, dispelling misperceptions around infant and young child nutrition (IYCN) due to COVID-19, and the translation of global recommendations on IYCN and COVID-19 to the unique context of the region. Considerations for country programs addressing IYCN and COVID-19 will also be discussed.Dr. Kavle is well known for her strategic and forward-thinking approach to designing, building and growing country programs to strengthen the delivery of integrated nutrition-health interventions as part of quality community and facility-based programming for over 15 years. Dr. Kavle seeks to bridge the gap between evidence and programs, and has developed evidence-informed programmatic and social behavior change approaches and tools through her leadership on United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded global health projects, such as Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP). Dr. Kavle is the founder and CEO of Kavle Consulting, LLC, a woman and minority-owned small business that aims to move the needle in global health and nutrition and build the capacity of the next generation of public health professionals. She is a lecturer at George Washington University, Milken Institute School of Public Health and holds a Ph.D. in Human Nutrition (’05) and an MPH (’00) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of International Health.
