County, City, University: Public Health and Legislation During a Pandemic

Join Maryland state senator and Program Director of the General Preventive Medicine Residency Program with Johns Hopkins University, Clarence Lam, MD, MPH as he presents on the challenges of occupational health during a pandemic and Maryland’s response to COVID-19. Utilizing Johns Hopkins University and Medicine as an example, Dr. Lam will walk the audience through Hopkins’s response to keeping its employees healthy and discuss how the response is impacted by Maryland’s shifting response to the pandemic.
 

Clarence Lam ImageDr. Lam earned his MD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and his MPH from the Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a board-certified physician in preventative medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He serves as the Program Director for the General Preventative Medicine Residency Program where he teaches public health physicians-in-training. Dr. Lam served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for the 12th district from 2015-2019, and in 2019 assumed office in the Maryland State Senate after the 2018 election.
