Beginner Yoga: Reversing the Effects of Sitting

Beginner Yoga: Reversing the Effects of Sitting

Sponsored by Hopkins Alumni

Medical studies show that long hours sitting at a desk can cause negative effects to our posture. Join us in a review of scientifically proven medical studies of how sitting impacts posture. In this yoga class, we'll take a close look at the muscular-skeletal structure related to sitting and how to reverse those effects through guided movement targeting specific muscle groups. Improving our posture can transform our self image and help us find our best self!

Join Cate Silberberg, JHU MS Behavioral Science graduate and Certified Yoga Instructor, in partnership with Hopkins Norfolk/Virginia Beach, for a guided lesson in how we shape our bodies through daily movement and how to make improvements to that can last a lifetime!

Yoga class optional, if you would like to participate wear comfortable clothing, find a soft surface or yoga mat, 1 block and 2 tennis balls.
