Course Description: Can a machine really detect a lie? Popular culture has made the polygraph both famous and controversial, but how does it actually work? In this two-session course, participants will explore the science, methods, and real-world applications of polygraph examinations. Learn how physiological responses are measured, how exam questions are developed, and how results are interpreted. Through case examples, discussion of common myths and misconceptions, and a live virtual demonstration, you'll gain an insider's perspective on the polygraph process. Whether you're interested in criminal justice, psychology, law, or simply curious about human behavior, this course offers a balanced, fact-based look at lie detection.
