SNF Agora Institute presents: AI and the Future of History Header Image

Presented by Hopkins at Home, the SNF Agora Institute, and the Data Science and AI Institute at Johns Hopkins University

What does it mean for a democracy when most people ask AI what really happened?  As in most fields, AI is rapidly transforming how history is taught, researched, and understood. Professor Hyman will discuss the exciting ways that AI promises to advance research, by unlocking the histories hidden in archives, even as it is changing how history is taught, and ultimately, how we understand the past itself.

Louis Hyman, the Dorothy Ross Professor of History, teaches “Introduction to Computational History” and, in addition to SNF Agora, is also a faculty member of the Data Science and AI Institute.
