Sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association

Laissez les bons temps rouler (Let the good times roll)!

Join fellow alumni and friend for a festive, hands-on beignet experience led by Baltimore-based celebrity chefs Amber Croom and Yassmeen Haskin-Jackson (of Beye Beignets), featured on Food Network and FOX. Registrants will learn to make King Cake-style beignets - pillowy, cinnamon-sugar filled, glazed, and finished in classic Mardi Gras colors - while enjoying Mardi Gras-inspired cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, a curated charcuterie spread, and King Cake bites as the dough proofs and fries. Equal parts cooking class and celebration, this private experience for our Hopkins community will have you ready with big Mardi Gras energy, great dough, and even better vibes.

Some class highlights:
- Hands-On Experience: Roll up your sleeves and dive into the art of beignet-making. Participants will shape, fry, and fill their creations with delicious creams, custards, and jams.
- Mardi Gras Decor: Get inspired by the spirit of Mardi Gras. Discover how to incorporate festive colors and designs into your beignet toppings, using artisanal sugars and other decorations.
- Taste Testing: Enjoy sampling a variety of filled beignets, including our signature flavors, as you perfect your technique.

Each registrant will also get a take-home treat at the end of the gathering. Registrants will be limited to one (1) additional guest per registration due to the size of the class. All registrants must be 18+ to participate.

A portion of this registration fee will serve as a donation in support of future programming and events.  If you wish to not have a portion of your registration support such initiatives, you may contact the Office of Annual Giving: oag@jhu.edu

While participating in off-campus events and meetings sponsored by the JHAA/JHM/JHHS participants must follow all public health guidelines mandated by the local jurisdiction and venue at the time of the event.
