Sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association

Calling all Little Jays! Join fellow alumni and their families for an unforgettable dive into the world of shark science at The Bimini Biological Field Station — better known as “The Shark Lab” — featured on Discovery’s annual Shark Week. We will explore the depths of the Shark Lab's history and learn more about their current research. The mission of The Shark Lab encompasses research, education and conservation. Registrants will have time to ask questions and learn more about the sharks inhabiting the waters off South Bimini, Bahamas and the Florida Keys.

Located on the small island of South Bimini, The Bahamas is the famous Bimini Biological Field Station Foundation (AKA The Shark Lab). Naturally, one might conjure up images of a laboratory setting with white lab coats and lots of high-tech equipment, however the Shark Lab is simply a 5-bedroom house with a classroom area for all things education. They don't have an aquarium or sharks in tanks - the Shark Lab's work takes place in the field!

Due to the nature of being a remote field station, the date of this event maybe subject to change.

The perspectives and opinions expressed by the speaker(s) during this program are those of the speaker(s) and not, necessarily, those of Johns Hopkins University.
