Join us for a conversation with Korn Ferry consultants Caroline Ellison, Julie Palmer Johnson, and Audra Neal. This facilitated conversation will discuss how the recruitment process works, including how recruiters find candidates for a role and recognize transferrable skills, and how job seekers can be better identified by recruiters. The panelists at this event have experience recruiting for positions in healthcare and academic medicine, government and the public sector, non-profits, and C-Suite roles across multiple industries. 

ABOUT Caroline Ellison

Caroline Ellison serves as a Managing Consultant in Korn Ferry’s Professional Search Healthcare Practice, partnering with hospital and health system leaders to address complex, high-stakes talent needs. Based in Atlanta, she brings nearly a decade of experience with the firm, progressing from Senior Associate to Managing Associate and now Managing Consultant a trajectory that reflects her consistent impact, execution excellence, and deep understanding of healthcare leadership.

Throughout her tenure, Caroline has built a reputation for delivering results on hard-to-fill, mission-critical roles across clinical, operational, and non-clinical domains. She is known for her disciplined, insight-driven approach to search execution, including her ability to decode competitive talent markets, craft research strategies, and identify leaders with niche or emerging skill sets. Her work spans areas that require nuanced industry knowledge and sophisticated candidate assessment. Clients value her high-touch communication style, strong market intelligence, and the rigor she brings to building well-qualified, diverse slates.

In addition to leading searches, Caroline contributes meaningfully to client strategy, search design, and the development of polished deliverables such as position profiles, market reports, and candidate briefs. She collaborates on business development efforts across the Healthcare Practice and brings prior experience recruiting within hospital environments in Boston and Atlanta, giving her a grounded understanding of healthcare operations and leadership challenges.

Caroline’s work is defined by clarity, thoroughness, and tenacity and consistently helping organizations secure the leadership talent required to advance their clinical, operational, and strategic priorities.

ABOUT Julie Palmer Johnson

Julie Palmer Johnson is a Managing Consultant for Korn Ferry’s Nonprofit and Higher Education Practice. In this role, Ms. Johnson is responsible for leading searches for a variety of mid-level and senior level positions.

Over the past six years at Korn Ferry, Ms. Johnson has advanced through progressively senior roles, building a strong reputation for disciplined execution, thoughtful judgment, and trusted partnership with boards and senior leadership across complex nonprofit and higher education organizations.
She has successfully executed searches for a wide range of senior and executive roles, including Presidents and CEOs; Vice Presidents; Chief Financial Officers; Chief Development Officers and other senior advancement leaders; Chief Communications and Chief Program Officers; Deans and Department Chairs; and other C-suite and senior leadership positions within mission-driven organizations.

Before her career in professional search, Ms. Johnson’s experience was primarily in Student Affairs and University Advancement -two areas she is still very passionate about. She spent over four years at the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, most recently as Senior Manager of Student & Young Alumni Engagement. During her time at Georgia Tech, she was heavily involved in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Ms. Johnson is originally from Chicago. She graduated cum laude from George Mason University’s Honors Program with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Government & International Politics and Interpersonal & Organizational Communication. She earned a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel at Bowling Green State University. Ms. Johnson has always had a passion for college student development, andcontinues to serve in a variety of advisory capacities for her sorority and alma maters.

ABOUT Audra Neal

Audra Neal is a Managing Associate with Korn Ferry Professional Search supporting Corporate and Government Affairs Center of Expertise as well as Higher Education and Nonprofit. Audra leverages her diverse experience from the private, public, and non-profit sectors to help clients design optimal organization structures, roles, and responsibilities. She is a proven leader who enjoys building effective, collaborative partnerships across stakeholders and organizations. Her broad expertise reflects a dynamic and adaptable approach to various positions as well as industries.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Audra worked in state government affairs with a focus on healthcare, judicial reform, and public safety policy. She also has corporate technology sector recruiting experience, managing talent acquisition for multiple offices along the East Coast and Midwest. Audra earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma. Outside of career matchmaking and networking, Audra stays busy reading, traveling, and attempting to wrangle her two busy sons– Connor and Nolan.
