His music spans genres and influences, and he is open to all great musical ideas. He had the honor of composing “True Blue” for the 2021 Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Awards Ceremony. Known for both virtuosity and tenderness Robert also collaborates with spoken word and visual arts in participatory inter-arts programs and events. During his recent artist residency at Casper College, his music for A Midsummer’s Night Dream was the conceptual foundation for the production. Robert tours as a soloist, collaborative artist, and master teacher. His current project is a book and video series on his methods of teaching through improvisation. He has recorded four solo piano albums with a new album due in 2024. He was a founding member and an officer of the Baltimore Composers Forum. Serving his second term, Robert is the Peabody Institute representative on the Johns Hopkins Alumni Council and an active member of the Engaging Future Alumni Committee.
Holding degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, baritone Rahzé Sinclair (né Cheatham) is praised as a “wonderfully sensitive” performer with “crystalline diction” and the ability to “move to tears”. A new and contemporary classical music artist in both concert and operatic repertoire, they have been featured in numerous projects, including opera scenes, oratorios, concerts, workshops, and gallery exhibitions. While hosting a voice studio of beginner, intermediate, and advanced students across multiple genres, they currently maintain faculty positions at the Baltimore School for the Arts. During the 2022-23 season they served as St. David’s Episcopal Church Composer-in-Residence.
