ABOUT OUR FEATURED GUEST
Dr. Peter D. Byeff graduated cum laude with honors in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania (1970) and earned his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1974). Following his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital—where he collaborated with Dr. Sheldon Wolff and Dr. Anthony Fauci at the NIAID—he completed a visiting fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Columbia-Presbyterian.

His remarkable career highlights include:

• Receiving the Royal Gibson Award for outstanding first-year fellow and the prestigious Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Cancer Fellowship.
• Serving as the long-standing Medical Director of the Cancer Center of the Hospital of Central Connecticut (Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, an affiliate of Memorial Sloan-Kettering).
• Holding the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
• Serving on the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Workforce Taskforce and acting as Principal Investigator on numerous clinical trials.
• Receiving the Johns Hopkins Heritage Award—the highest honor bestowed by the Alumni Association—and spearheading a landmark scholarship campaign that raised $18 million (surpassing its $12.5 million goal).

A Fascinating Historical Interlude
Beyond his storied medical career, Dr. Byeff maintains a lifelong, expert fascination with the Lindbergh kidnapping case of the 1930s. His unique insights stem from a personal connection to Dr. Dudley D. Schoenfeld, a pioneering psychiatrist and the world's first criminal profiler who was called in to analyze the ransom notes. Because Dr. Byeff's mother served as Dr. Schoenfeld’s personal assistant for many years, Dr. Byeff grew up with insider perspectives on this historic investigation, about which he has lectured extensively.

This interactive session offers learners a unique opportunity to hear Dr. Byeff’s insights, ask questions, and learn from his extraordinary career journey.
