Please join us for a fireside chat on the intricate landscape of Asian American Identity with distinguished speaker and fellow Hopkins alumni, Dave Prakash, MD, MBA and moderated by alumni leader, Sara Abiusi. The conversation will offer a glimpse into Dave’s remarkable journey, spanning diverse domains, from medicine and aviation to technological leadership and provide insights into the challenges and triumphs along the way that shaped his understanding of Asian American Identity and his perception of self.

ABOUT Dave Prakash, A&S '97
Director, AI Governance

Dr. Dave Prakash is the Director of AI Governance at Booz Allen Hamilton where he focuses on delivering safe and responsible AI for the US government.  Previously, Dave worked on AI solutions for a tech company and a healthcare payor. His roles spanned product development, clinical validation, enterprise sales, and government relations.

Originally trained as a doctor, Dave joined the military to serve as a pilot after 9/11. He served 12 years on active duty to become an operational test pilot, and also a flight surgeon.

Dave left the military with a scholarship from the Pat Tillman Foundation to attend Stanford University where he studied business management and public policy. Today, Dave also advises startups and was recently appointed by the governor of Virginia to serve on the committee for renal disease as a living kidney donor.

ABOUT Sara Abiusi, Eng '96
Managing Director, Accenture Federal Services

Sara Abiusi is the Quality and Deputy Delivery lead for Accenture Federal Services.  In this role, she is responsible for the quality and delivery of all client-facing work for Accenture Federal Services.   Prior to that Sara spent 25 years supporting and delivering large complex technology modernization programs for Civilian and State and local clients. 

Ms. Abiusi holds various roles in Inclusion & Diversity: US Executive Sponsor of the Asian Pacific American Employee Resource Group and Accenture Federal Services Inclusion and Diversity council. She was awarded Consulting Magazine’s Women in Technology Leadership 2020 award, Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business 2018 award, and 2021 Women in Information Technology – CTO of the Year Finalists.  Ms. Abiusi leads Accenture’s relationship with Ascend, the largest Pan-Asian Professional Development organization in North America and serves on the Greater Washington Board of Advisors and is a member of the DC Corporate Executive Initiative.  In 2019, Ms. Abiusi was awarded the Washington Business Journal’s Minority Business Leader Award.

Ms. Abiusi graduated in 1996 from Johns Hopkins with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and served on the University’s elite Alumni Council for two terms.   In her personal life, Ms. Abiusi is married with two children: a sixteen-year-old daughter and a twelve-year-old son.  Ms. Abiusi is a National Park lover and a self-professed soccer mom.
