San Diego, CA: Whale Watch & Dolphin Tour

Join fellow alumni and friends for a morning on the Pacific with San Diego Whale Watch! We'll set sail from scenic Mission Bay, which offers the shortest trip to the open ocean - giving you more time to search for incredible wildlife during this unforgettable 2-3 hour whale-watching adventure. Taking this trip during the winter season, it can range from 2-2.5 hours depending on the wildlife activity. In just 10 minutes, we’ll leave the bay behind and be cruising the open Pacific, scanning the horizon for whales, dolphins, and other awe-inspiring marine life. With expert guides and naturalists by your side, every sighting comes to life through fascinating stories and insights. From the moment you spot a spout in the distance to the thrill of dolphins racing alongside the boat, no two adventures are ever the same. 

Due to limited capacity, registrants are allowed one (1) additional guest per submission form. 

An optional lunch will be available for the group to enjoy after returning to land, at nearby Charli's Landing. This outing will not be included in your ticket registration fee and will be at your own discrection. 

A portion of this registration fee will serve as a donation in support of future programming and events.  If you wish to not have a portion of your registration support such initiatives, you may contact the Office of Annual Giving: oag@jhu.edu.       

While participating in off-campus events and meetings sponsored by the JHAA/JHM/JHHS participants must follow all public health guidelines mandated by the local jurisdiction and venue at the time of the event. Johns Hopkins strongly suggests that attendees who join in person receive at least one dose of an FDA- or WHO-authorized COVID-19 vaccine before attending This is subject to change.
