Experience the bittersweet, witty, and deeply human world of Anton Chekhov with Uncle Vanya at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC. This highly anticipated production stars the incomparable Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington) and brings Chekhov’s masterpiece to life with humor and heartbreak, exploring "the eternal battle between futility and change."
This outing is hosted by Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Odyssey instructor Lynne Agress, Ph.D., a respected author and longtime opinion writer for The Baltimore Sun. She is currently teaching the Spring 2025 Odyssey course "Anton Chekhov: The Great Russian Playwright and Short-Story Writer," offering expert insight into Chekhov’s works.
Seats are located in the mezzanine and will be held at the box office will call for pickup on the day of the performance.
A portion of this registration fee will serve as a donation in support of future programming and events.
