Writing Material: A Poetry Workshop

Get outside of yourself in your creative practice with ekphrastic techniques when you join Writing Seminars professor Dora Malech for a poetry workshop inspired by material culture and the objects, art, and history of the Homewood Museum. This workshop is offered in coordination with History Through Poetry, an exhibit of student work created in Malech’s Fall 2024 First-Year Seminar: Bringing the Past to Life with Poetry. 

ABOUT Dora Malech

Dora Malech is a professor in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University and editor in chief of The Hopkins Review. Her fifth book of poetry, Trying x Trying, is forthcoming from Carnegie Mellon University Press later this year, and her poems have appeared in numerous publications, including The New Yorker, Poetry, and Best American Poetry.
