Carnegie Hall Perspectives artist and Peabody Institute Professor and Director of the Graduate Conducting Program, Marin Alsop leads The Philadelphia Orchestra in this major highlight of the United in Sound: America at 250 festival, joined by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis for selections from Marsalis’s The Jungle (Symphony No. 4). Before the performance, we will gather at Quality Italian at 5 pm for a pre-show reception, where beer, wine, and food will be available. The performance will begin at 8 pm. Tickets will be distributed in person before the performance. Don't miss out on this great evening with your JHU alumni community - register early to secure your spot! ** Please note this performance was supposed to feature the New York premiere of Wynton Marsalis’s Liberty Symphony (Symphony No. 5) but it has been postponed until the fall**A portion of this registration fee will serve as a donation in support of future programming and events.
