The Legacy of Our Mothers: Reflecting on Intergenerational Dynamics Among Asian American Women

Sponsored by Women of Hopkins LA
The mother-daughter relationship is an important, but often invisible dimension to Asian and Asian American experience. It sits at the nexus of intersecting identities and experiences of Asian American women, specifically gender, race, immigration status, and cross-generational dynamics. Please join us for our upcoming virtual discussion as we collectively reflect on how Asian immigrant women have historically navigated their complex ethnic-racial identities and shifting gender expectations in the United States, and the ways in which the later generations of Asian American women have continued and in some cases embraced certain parts of their mothers’ legacy while simultaneously pivoting away from the others.
* Registrants will receive the discussion Zoom link in their confirmation emails.
