Art. Bohemia. The Moulin Rouge. All just a day in the life of Henri Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901). Join us to learn more about this wildly exciting figure of art history!
The focus of this course will be on his early artistic education under the guidance of Rene Princetau, Leon Bonnnat and Fernand Cormon. We'll also discuss his bohemian life at Montmartre and Moulin Rouge with fine examples of portraits, nudes and cabaret compositions. Finally, we'll examine his drawings, paintings on carboard, pastels and his contribution to lithographic poster design.
