Sponsored by Hopkins Alumni
Join your fellow alumni and friends as we enjoy a tour of the permanent collection at the Kimbell Art Museum followed by afternoon tea.
The Kimbell Art Museum officially opened on October 4, 1972. The Kimbell Art Foundation, which owns and operates the Museum, had been established in 1936 by Kay and Velma Kimbell, together with Kay’s sister and her husband, Dr. and Mrs. Coleman Carter. The Kimbell’s permanent collection is small in size, comprising around 350 works of art, and is distinguished by an extraordinary level of artistic quality and importance.
Your ticket includes entrance to the museum, a one-hour docent-guided tour, followed by afternoon tea. Tea will include a selection of fragrant loose-leaf teas and an array of sweet and savory items, including scones, finger sandwiches, cookies, and muffins. Served with house-made jams and salted butter.
While participating in off-campus events and meetings sponsored by the JHAA/JHM/JHHS participants must follow all public health guidelines mandated by the local jurisdiction and venue at the time of the event, including vaccination and masking and distancing guidance. Johns Hopkins strongly suggests that attendees who join in person be fully vaccinated. This is subject to change.
All ticket sales are final - ticketed events are non-refundable.
