Join Nasar Abadey as he takes you on an exploration of key fundamental elements which create Jazz music. The sessions will examine and illustrate the following areas:
- Art of Listening to Jazz (what to look for in a Jazz performance live or recorded)
- The Origin of the Blues
- Improvisation
- Call and Response
- Scat Singing
- Trading Fours
- … and more
Additionally, the when, why and how this music developed and the many that advanced it to achieving its status of America's gift to world culture will also be a part of the discussion. Music examples will be played to illustrate points of views presented. All in all, this will be a fun filled activity of listening and enjoying the music of some of the greatest Jazz musicians, male and female, that created this music.
