Half Moon Bay, CA: Horseback Riding

Join Hopkins alumni and friends as we enjoy a morning of horseback riding in Half Moon Bay! Exploring the Half Moon Bay Coastside by horseback is a unique way to experience the sweeping beauty of the coast. This ride takes you down the Coastal Equestrian Trail, onto the bluffs above the ocean, onto Poplar Beach, going south for about 30 minutes, and then back to the ranch. Seasoned equestrians and novices alike will delight in the unspoiled coastal bluffs and pristine shores. 

Riders must be 7 years old to participate. Helmets are mandatory for all riders and are supplied at the ranch. Long pants that cover your ankles and closed toed shoes are required. The ranch uses a Height-to-Weight Proportion Chart to determine whether or not it is safe to ride. The final decision is at the sole discretion of the ranch. The ride begins at 11:00am but riders must arrive 30 minutes early to sign a waiver. 

A portion of this registration fee will serve as a donation in support of future programming and events.  If you wish to not have a portion of your registration support such initiatives, you may contact the Office of Annual Giving: oag@jhu.edu.      

While participating in off-campus events and meetings sponsored by the JHAA/JHM/JHHS participants must follow all public health guidelines mandated by the local jurisdiction and venue at the time of the event. Johns Hopkins strongly suggests that attendees who join in person receive at least one dose of an FDA- or WHO-authorized COVID-19 vaccine before attending This is subject to change.
