Hopkins Journeys: Celebrating the World of Jane Austen

The World of Jane Austen

"It isn't what we say or think that defines us, but what we do.”
Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility

Organized by the Johns Hopkins Office of Alumni Relations Lifelong Learning in partnership with the Baltimore Museum of Art and Goucher College

Step into Jane Austen’s world as we celebrate her 250th birthday—right here in Baltimore! Enjoy a weekend filled with wit, wonder, and Regency-inspired charm. The celebration includes lectures by Hopkins scholars, interactive workshops, live music, dancing, and afternoon tea. Special experiences include a curator-led tour of the Baltimore Museum of Art’s 18th–19th century collections and a visit to Goucher College, home to North America’s premier Jane Austen Collection. Whether you’re a devoted Janeite or a curious newcomer, this weekend offers something for every admirer of Austen’s enduring legacy.
