On the Road with JHU: Biscuit Baking & Pimento Cheese Class
Sponsored by Hopkins Alumni
Join fellow alums as we learn the secrets to making light and fluffy Southern Biscuits. The first half of the class will be a demonstration of several biscuit recipes and detailed instruction by the chef, and then all enrolled can choose to cook along to make Two-ingredient Biscuits, or just take notes. We will also be making the perfect biscuit spread, pimento cheese!
Our instructor, Cynthia Graubart is a food writer, acclaimed cookbook author, speaker, cooking teacher, and former cooking show television producer. She is most recently the author of her eighth cookbook, Sunday Suppers (Oxmoor House 2017). Cynthia brings a taste of the south to every dish she creates and serves, and joined her fellow Georgia Grown Executive Chefs to cook at the James Beard House in June 2017, and again in 2019 with her all-female chef team to honor Nathalie Dupree on the occasion of her 80th birthday. She and Nathalie Dupree wrote the best-selling (and James Beard Award-winning) Mastering the Art of Southern Cooking (Gibbs-Smith 2012).
This class will last approx. 60-90 minutes. We will also be giving away a copy of Cynthia's Southern Biscuits cookbook to one of our attendees.
