Featuring Johns Hopkins University Society of Black Alumni Presidential Professor, Professor of History Martha S. Jones, Howard University Knight Chair in Race and Journalism Nikole Hannah-Jones, and moderated by Johns Hopkins University Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Katrina Caldwell.

Thursday, September 15 - Black in America 2022: Facing the Challenges and Creating Opportunities

Engage in a panel discussion with Hopkins experts about the state of African Americans in the United States in 2022.
Panelists will explore the opportunities and challenges with a focus on the future. The session will be moderated by Lawrence Jackson, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of English and History. Panelists will include Dr. James Calvin, Professor of Management and Organization Practice, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Dr. Norma L. Day-Vines, Associate Dean for Diversity and Faculty Development; Professor of Counseling and Human Development and Julia Stevenson, Bus '15 & Director, Mid-Atlantic Region, Langdon Park Capital, and moderated by Dr. Deidre Defoe, Medical Director & COO, Innovation Health. Co-Founder, The Johns Hopkins Health Equity Group.

Join us for an evening of connections, food, and drink at Bar-Code, voted "Best Happy Hour" by the Washington Post. Meet a few of our very own highlighted Hopkins Owners/Founders and Entrepreneurs. Attendees will receive food and two drink tickets at the event upon registering.
