From Hopkins to the Ministry of Crab

Sponsored by Hopkins Alumni

Join fellow alumni and friends for a conversation with Chef Dharshan Munidasa, Engineering '94! Chef Munidasa is Sri Lanka’s most renowned chef-restaurateur, best known for having founded Nihonbashi and the Ministry of Crab, two of Sri Lanka’s most successful restaurants, both of which are the only Sri Lankan restaurants on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list. As a double major at Johns Hopkins (Computer Engineering and International Relations), he unearthed his passion for cooking in the resident halls. He is a self-taught culinary expert whose efforts promoting Japanese Cuisine in Sri Lanka earned him recognition from the Japanese Government for which he was awarded The Minister’s Award for Overseas Promotion of Japanese Food in 2014.
