JHSON Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds: Achieving Health Equity in Mental Health Outcomes for Native American Youth
The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in partnership with the Nu Beta at Large Chapter of Sigma will offer a monthly Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds Continuing Nursing Education Series, providing an educational program led by top researchers from around the world.
In this grand rounds, Dr. Teresa Brockie, ’05, ’13, Katie Nelson, ’17 and Dr. Jennifer Show will describe the differences in mental health outcomes cross Indian Health Service (HIS) geographical areas. They will discuss the importance of cultural protective factors in mitigating mental health challenges in a Native American context. In this presentation, attendees will understand the importance of and be able to apply multi-level approaches to solving complex health challenges in Native American communities.
The Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds series will offer one free contact hour upon the completion of a post-event quiz after each session, with the goal of fulfilling the JHSON’s mission of providing lifelong learning for health care professionals within the community.
The Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds NCPD Series is sponsored by the Nu Beta at Large Chapter of Sigma, the Honor Society of Nursing. The Nu Beta Chapter was established at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 1992.
