Offered as part of the Spring 2024 Odyssey Alumni Academy - courses exclusively for alumni and taught by esteemed members of our alumni community and faculty. 

Course Description: Confidently lead constructive social change with a family rebuilding and community centered approach. This course is for leaders who want to use spiritual care to impact constructive social change to advance leadership abilities. Engage in transformational leadership experience with alums in various organizations and various backgrounds.

Johns Hopkins Tuition Remission Policies  

Johns Hopkins alumni, staff, faculty and their spouse or domestic partners are eligible for tuition remission for Odyssey lifelong learning courses. Select the correct ticket pricing during registration. If we cannot confirm your eligibility, you will be requested to pay the full registration price for the course.  Eligibility details can be found here. 

Withdrawals & Refunds: 

If a course is canceled or closed, the registrant is notified immediately, and a full refund is processed automatically unless another course is requested. Registrants who wish to withdraw from an active course must complete the online Odyssey Refund Request Form. Attach any documentation to support your request (e.g., medical documentation, family crisis documentation, etc.). 

100% refund- Prior to the start of the course. 

50% refund- During the first week of the course. 

No refunds will be given after the first week of each course unless in exceptional cases. 

Please note, refunds apply only to the tuition portion of an Odyssey participant’s charges and are not applicable to any fees or gifts made to the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association. Registrants will be notified by email if a refund is approved within (5) business days. 

ABOUT Dr. Brenda Davis

Brenda Davis, Ph. D., MSEd., MAEd., a leadership design consultant, social scientist researcher, and continuing professional developer. Dr. Davis serves as Director of Admissions and Chief Student Success Officer (CSSO) for Omega Graduate School American Centre for Religion and Society Studies. A retired public school teacher with 30 years of developing teachers and school leaders via train-the-trainer models in leadership, literacy, family engagement, and wellness post-pandemic from a faith-based perspective. She has served as a mentor for JHU School of Education students and a featured panelist for JHU Passion for Profession. 

She is an alumnus and served on the Think Tank for Global Education at Harvard School of Education, Harvard University. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Davis completed residences at the Library of Congress and Oxford, England, Wycliffe Hall. Her research focuses on the impact of connectedness via social and emotional relationships in schools and families and makes a case for integrating homeschooling elements into public. Leadership design work incorporates basics from training in Mental Health First Aid, USA 2020. National Council for Behavioral Health
