Course Title: Street Photography in Your Neighborhood
Instructor: David Mullen
Brought to you by Odyssey
January 29, 2024 - March 04, 2024 (6 Sessions)
Monday, 7PM ET
Virtual via Zoom
Course Description: Street photography is more popular than ever now that everyone has access to a high quality camera, whether the mobile device in their pocket or the big black camera in their camera bag. In this class we’ll explore the genre of street photography through it’s history, techniques, equipment, and ethical considerations. Every city, town, and neighborhood provides a unique setting for street photography, so we’ll look at shooting not only in the big city but in towns, at beaches, festivals, and other events. Participants will produce images between classes as they explore different aspects of street photography and generate a final body of work showing their unique vision. A weekly gentle critique will guide students toward improving their ability to see beyond the ordinary, with a final project to include a class website and class magazine showing everyone’s best work.
