October 22 – Peabody Symphony Orchestra at The Gordon Performing Arts Center, Owings Mills, MD
Part of the Ruth Blaustein Rosenberg Concert Series, this evening features Marin Alsop conducting a compelling program of orchestral storytelling, including Carlos Simon’s Fate Now Conquers, Bartók’s Miraculous Mandarin Suite, and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Jun Hwi Cho, winner of the 2024 Harrison Winter Piano Competition.
October 30 – Peabody Jazz Ensemble at Creative Alliance, Highlandtown–Baltimore, MD
Experience the energy and soul of big band jazz as the Peabody Jazz Ensemble, led by Sean Jones, performs works by Count Basie, Frank Foster, and Thad Jones. Under Jones’s visionary direction, the ensemble blends innovation with the rich legacy of American jazz, spotlighting the next generation of jazz artists.
