Strategies for Baltimore City to Better Serve a Growing Latinx Community

Baltimore City has undergone a steady population decline over the past several years, recording 620,210 residents in 2011 and 585,708 at the time of the census in April, 2020. During the same time period, the Latinx community in Baltimore increased from approximately 4% to 8% of the population, or from 25,960 to 45,927 residents. Mónica Guerrero Vázquez recognizes there are many opportunities for Baltimore to better support a growing Latinx community, including ensuring accurate Latinx representation in local research and providing health resources in multiple languages and delivered through multiple platforms. Join us for a conversation on how Baltimore can better serve its Latinx residents, especially those impacted by COVID-19 and battling depression.
