Craft Your Resume for New Industries Header Image

Join us for a facilitated discussion with leaders in three industries- consulting, state health departments, and phamaceuticals- as they discuss resume trends in their fields. We will cover everything from the format and layout of the resume to using common industry terms to highight transferrable skills. Attendees will leave with a broad understanding of how to restructure their resume or CV and have a better understanding of which skills, certifications, or qualifications to highlight based on their new field of interest.

ABOUT Aseel Salih

Aseel Salih fled Sudan's civil war in 2023 after serving as the country's youngest government health official. In this role, she shaped COVID-19 policy and represented Sudan at multiple WHO World Health Assemblies where she advocated for global health equity. At the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, she was a 2023-2024 Sommer Scholar, focusing on health policy and pharmacoepidemiology. She continues her journey at the intersection of health policy and strategy at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. 

ABOUT Kiefer Ahn

Kiefer Ahn is a consultant with NERA where he specializes in economic analysis to support litigation and complex business matters. As an intellectual property economist, he focuses on issues such as patent damages and antitrust in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. He received his PhD from the Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2023. 

ABOUT Shelly Choo

Shelly Choo is the Director for the Bureau of Maternal and Child Health at the Maryland Department of Health. She previously served as the Chief Medical Officer with the Baltimore City Health Department and the Senior Medical Advisor with B’more for Healthy Babies. Her specialty is in Preventive Medicine and Public Health and is passionate about maternal and child health, equity, and the social determinants of health. She is a mother of two children. She received her MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2011 and her MPH from the Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2014. In 2023, she was recognized in the de Beaumont Foundations' 40 under 40. 

ABOUT Crystal Allen

Crystal Allen is a highly skilled professional with a focus on the health-tech sector. She currently contributes her expertise to Medtronic, where she develops and executes comprehensive marketing and partnership strategies for innovative platforms and products.  

Crystal is passionate about the crossroads of equity, health, marketing, and technology. Prior to her time at Medtronic, she worked as a registered nurse at Cityblock, a health-tech start-up  where she engaged in leveraging innovative technology, including a specialized care facilitation platform. Her experience allowed her to enhance health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Leveraging her expertise in member interactions, marketing, start-ups and clinical knowledge, she is committed to optimizing workflow processes and establishing impactful strategic partnerships. Crystal received both her MPH and MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
