  • Power and Leadership: Responsibility & Opportunities for Women Executives| Eleni Palladis (SAIS '95)
Women in executive roles often struggle with the responsibilities of leading in a community dominated by men. During this session, we will explore the ways in which women leaders can use the power of their position to influence this community.
This intimate conversation is intended for our participants who currently hold or have held C-level leadership positions.

  • Women Supporting Women| A panel discussion led by Lindsey Hutzler (A&S '12)
Can you be professionally driven while also creating an environment of support for other women or are we in constant competition with one another? Through personal stories and professional experience, explore the challenges that can be unique to women in a male-centered professional world. Explore the ways in which can we support one another at every level and still be advocates for ourselves.

  • Power Within: Understanding and Managing Stress, Anxiety, and Insomnia |  Niyati Shah (SAIS '11)

Anxiety, stress, insomnia share an imbalance of the nervous system where stimuli (overt and subtle) drive our body and mind into 'fight or flight' mode. Learn what triggers this imbalance, and practice with internal tools -- your breath and mindfulness -- to deactivate it. In this session, we'll work with a few controlled breathing techniques and discuss tools to manage stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

  • Carey Executive Education presents Designing Personal Change | Adriano Pianesi, MBA, Carey Business School Executive Education

Designing Personal Change provides participants with the opportunity to uncover their own professional purpose. An excerpt from the Carey Executive Education course, during this hour you will learn how to use adaptive leadership techniques and design thinking to be self-reflective and challenge assumptions that may be holding you back. Join us to design your personal change and realize your professional purpose.

  • Embrace the Outdoors: stay stress-free through play! | Brooke Buckley, MD (A&S '98)
In a time of technology and virtual reality, have we forgotten the importance of play? In this session, we’ll focus on the ways that play behaviors affect our physical and psychological health and discover strategies for integrating outdoor space as a burnout mitigation practice.

  • What comes next? Is graduate school right for you?| A panel discussion led by Joanna Gawlik (A&S '13)

  • Career (Re)Design using Design Thinking | Saleema Vellani (SAIS '12)
Are you considering making a career transition or do you feel like your career needs a boost? There's no better process than design thinking to gain clarity and explore possibilities. This workshop will empower you with a framework to make confident decisions in your career, including changing jobs or industries, finding relevant connections and mentors, and getting on a path to alignment and feeling "inflow".

Participants will learn how to apply a human-centered, possibility-driven, option-focused and iterative approach to some of their biggest challenges—in their careers and lives—using Innovazing's tools, exercises, and frameworks. In addition to an iterative career map and other useful tools, participants will walk away with a distinct mindset for problem-solving, practice thinking outside the box, and apply what they discover in real-time to generate new results.

  • Women Entrepreneurs: Taking the Leap | Panel Discussion led by Alina Predescu (BUS '17) & Margia Arguello (BUS '16, A&S '07)Has your career taken twists and turns that you didn’t expect? Are you at a crossroads, deciding between your current path or taking the road less traveled This panel of female entrepreneurs will share their professional stories and best practices. Uncover what inspired them to take those first steps towards entrepreneurship and, even though the path was unclear, what kept them going. During this candid conversation, you will experience the good, the bad, and the ugly of their entrepreneurial experiences. Did they make it? Find out together!
