Eliminating Tuberculosis: Partnerships in Action in India
Tuberculosis remains the top global infectious disease killer behind COVID-19 and although deaths have fallen approximately 40% since 2000, 1.6 million people still die annually. In India, Tibetan refugee children are 5 times more likely to contract TB than their Indian peers. Join Kunchok Dorgee from the Johns Hopkins Alliance for a Healthier World as he discusses how the Alliance leverages expertise in the areas of health communications, health economics, psycho-educational counseling, and TB control and treatment and partners with local stakeholders to conduct school-based screenings and implement novel drug regimens which have led to >80% reduction of TB case rate in boarding schools and among the Tibetan child refugee population in Northern India.
