Power to Heal: Medicare and the Civil Rights Revolution

Please join us on Thursday, February 17th at 7:00 pm, for a dynamic virtual discussion about the state of the current American Health System, reflecting on the themes and history explored in the documentary, Power to Heal: Medicare and the Civil Rights Revolution. How much progress has been made in creating equitable health outcomes and greater access to health care? 
The panel will be moderated by Karen Kruse Thomas, PhD, Historian for the Bloomberg School of Public Health and Dr. Deidre Defoe, one of the co-founders of the Johns Hopkins Health Equity Group. Prior to the discussion, registered participants will view the hour-long public television documentary that tells a poignant chapter in the historic struggle to secure equal and adequate access to healthcare.
