New Life for Old Maps: Digital Scholarship with the Greene Map Collection

New Life for Old Maps: Digital Scholarship with the Greene Map Collection

Sponsored by the Sheridan Libraries & University Museums, the Friends of the Johns Hopkins University Libraries, and the Arts, Entertainment, Media, and Entrepreneurship Affinity

The John and Linda Greene Map Collection contains over 2,000 maps dating from the 1500s to the present. This recent gift to the Sheridan Libraries strengthens the university’s existing map holdings by adding a multi-century global focus, and is a particularly rich resource for those who study maps used for diplomacy, education, and news. Join our map curator and geospatial librarian Lena Denis for a tour of selected highlights and learn how the Greene Map Collection is supporting pioneering scholarship in a hybrid world, both in the classroom and around the world. This program will be presented on Zoom. A link will be shared in advance.
