Course Description: The history of the concepts behind quantum computing go back to the origins of quantum mechanics in the 1920s. The idea of a working quantum computer has however, only been a subject of interest since the 1980s, when theoretical physicist Richard Feynman began to think about its possibilities. Because of the physical limitations of classical computing, it has been thought for decades that a quantum computer might be capable of performing calculations significantly faster. This class will give students an introduction to the theories behind quantum computing and explore the technical and conceptual difficulties in building one. Students will look closely at several forms of quantum computers, like superconducting and trapped ion, and use IBM Quantum Composer tools. No previous experience in quantum mechanics or programming is required for this class.

If a course is canceled or closed, the registrant is notified immediately, and a full refund is processed automatically unless another course is requested. Attach any documentation to support your request (e.g., medical documentation, family crisis documentation, etc.). 

100% refund- Prior to the start of the course. 

50% refund- During the first week of the course. 

No refunds will be given after the first week of each course unless in exceptional cases.
